FShost Multiplayer Software

What is FShost?

FShost is a freeware program that allows multiple users of Flight Simulator to connect over the internet and fly in a multiplayer environment. FShost supports all recent versions of Microsoft Flight Simulator, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2002, 2004 & FSX. The connection is completely secure and handled by a Windows server.

What do I need?

To connect to FShost, you will need a working version of Flight Simulator, a reliable internet connection, and the Fshost program itself. You can download the program itself from Chocolate Software, here.

Installation

Installation is simple, extract the ZIP and then open the Executable file. No installation, just run the program and follow the connection instructions below.

Connecting to the Multiplayer Server

Fshost is very simple to use once you have connected for the first time. Open the program by clicking the fshost.exe link on your desktop or in the download folder. Two screens should appear; the large one being the status screen, and the the second being the server connection screen, the smaller of the two.
Concentrate on the small screen for the time being, and you will need to enter some simple details before being able to connect. Enter the following

Player Name - *your LNK I.D or Firstname*
IP Address - 64.22.78.67
Connect Port - 24475
Click Search for Sessions
When the server appears on the serverlist, press connect. This may take more than one attempts to search.

Finally, a third screen should become visible, this being the Chatbox. This feature enables the users to chat to each other if they have no microphone on teamspeak. Please bear in mind that even if you do not have a microphone, being on teamspeak is mandatory, even if you are online by yourself. This not only helps any air traffic controllers if they were to come online from having to ask you, it also puts out a live feed onto the website, so the more users that are shown on teamspeak the better for us. A new member is unlikely to signup if the place is dead all day, everyday.

Anyway, back on track...once you are connected to the host, that is all you need to do. Load up FSX in free flight mode, and you will become visible to other pilots, and you will also become visible to them. Remember if the person is more than 10nm away, you will not be able to see them. This is set by FShost, not FSX.

Happy Flying...
